Make the valley your base, rather than a place to pass through.
Jasenak sits on the southern side of the mountain and makes a natural starting point for exploring this part of the interior. Give the valley its own time: a quiet arrival, a short walk appropriate to conditions, and an evening before the bigger mountain day.
Look for a privately operated cabin or holiday home in Jasenak and the surrounding area, and confirm availability directly. Ask about heating, road access, food supplies and your chosen trailhead. The historic Olympic complex is not presented here as an operating hotel or ski resort.
The former Croatian Olympic Centre has been closed since the 2011 fire. Do not plan around working lifts or an operating ski resort.
